Bambarakanda Waterfall

Bambarakanda Waterfall is the highest waterfall in Sri Lanka with a height of 263m. It is the 299th rank in the World highest waterfalls list. It is situated at Kalupahana in Badulla district. You can reach this waterfall from Colombo via Avissawella, Rathnapura, Pelmadulla, Balangoda and Kalupahana junction. It is about 180 kilometers from Colombo. Below is the map.

This waterfall is formed by the Kuda Oya. It is situated in the middle of a forest. So you can see the beauty of the nature very easily with the forest. the waterfall is surrounded by a beautiful mountain class and if you need you can also climb those mountains.
the most important thing in this waterfall is you can bath at the bottom pool. It is not like other waterfalls the water pool at bottom is not deep, because water falls on to the rocks before comes in to the pool and so the water pressure is not high at the pool.
